Pow Wow Volunteer Opportunities
Entry Gates
• Responsible for handling tickets, entry to event and stamping re-entry for those who require it.
• Responsible for giving general information.
• Basically, enjoy meeting people, greet them and handle any questions that may be asked.
Information Booth
• Responsible for distributing Pow Wow information.
• Responsible for Registering cameras and video-players.
• Responsible for selling Pow Wow programs.
• Responsible for giving general information.
• Basically, be able to request information, sell items and handle any general questions.
Jewelry
• Assist with SCIC Jewelry sales and provide security watch for the booth.
• Have knowledge of American Indian jewelry and participate in jewelry training class.
Logistics
• Assist in setting up for the Pow Wow on Thursday and Friday. (Setup tarps, load-unload trucks, post signs, chalk grounds)
• Assist with cleanup after the Pow Wow on Sunday evening. (Pack, load, cleanup, etc.)
• Basically, need to be able to perform physical labor.
Merchandise
• Assist in selling SCIC merchandise (mugs, jackets, watches, t-shirts, posters, etc.)
• Assist in selling daily raffle tickets.
• Basically, need to be able to sell merchandise.
Volunteer and Volunteer Hospitatlity
• Register volunteers, distribute assignments and name tags.
• On-call to provide staffing if needed.
• Assist in providing refreshments to Volunteers on a regular basis.
